Many people
say that they would vote Libertarian, but they don’t wish to waste their
vote. To that I say: The political process is about making changes. The
more votes that I get, the more likely it is that change will take place
to cause the country to move in the direction outlined in this website.
Realistically, after the 2008 election, the Democrats will control both
the House of Representatives and the Senate. So, whether Saxby
Chambliss or the Democratic candidate wins is not going to make much, if
any, difference in terms of the long-term direction of our country.
By voting for me, you can do your part to bring about the important
changes that need to be made to help our country last indefinitely.
In his 2004
book titled “Running on Empty,” former (Republican) Secretary of
Commerce Pete Peterson said regarding the financial problems of the
U.S.:
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German
theologian who witnessed firsthand the rise of fascism in Germany.
Though he could have fled to America, he stayed in his homeland to help
Jews and other persecuted people to safety until he was arrested. Among
the many penetrating thoughts he penned while awaiting execution, one
has always caught my attention. “The ultimate test of a moral society,”
Bonhoeffer wrote, “is the kind of world it leaves to its children.” Few
of us will ever be called on to pay the price he paid. But most of us
understand that one essential duty of any citizen is speaking up and
taking action when we see a great wrong threatening our republic’s
future. What is now happening fiscally is a great wrong. And all of us
can say or do something to help avert it.
A vote for me
is a vote for foreign policy, environmental, economic and social changes
that will work for today and tomorrow. In short, by voting
for me, you will be performing a public service.
